In what became one of our largest and most feverishly fought competitions to date – after several months of reading, judges and partners weighing in, and several writers already finding representation along the way, we, along with our exclusive partners Oil & Cattle Entertainment, Artillery Creative and our mentorship panel of Helen Leigh, Lauren Otero and Zachary Robbins are incredibly proud to present to you the winners of the 2018 Launch Pad Pilot Competition!
Evenly split between half-hour comedies and hour-long dramas, this years Top 10 comes to us from all four corners of the United States, and is made up of twelve writers (two writing teams), with four scripts appearing from female writers, and six from male writers, and two Launch Pad alums returning to the spotlight from previous years.
With more than 2,500 entries, 2,800 writers, and stories originating from 19 different countries, this years top 25 pilots truly represents the top 1% of our 2018 Launch Pad Pilot Competition.
The project, which will also see McDaniel adapt, will be fast-tracked as a new series for the company as part of the first look deal.

Following a season on MTV’s Teen Wolf, and three years on the Rob Thomas series iZombie at CW, LP Alums and Mentors Masoud & Gonzalez have made the jump into the broadcast world joining the ninth season of the fan-favorite CBS series.
With this Top 100 announcement marking the first of our 2018 competitions, we’re not only thrilled to introduce to you those who’ve made the top 4% of this year’s competition, but also in looking back at the milestones our community of writers have achieved since the competitions began. We’ve seen more than 360 writers signed, 100 projects set up, 50 writers staffed, 100 appearances on the annual best of lists, and six bidding wars since the Launch Pad began, and with this new list of writers joining our Launch Pad community, we’re being excited to see where they go from here!
