The new standard of what writers should expect from a screenwriting competition.

105
Writers signed in 2 years
37
Projects set up in 2 years

The sole objective of the Launch Pad Competition is to recognize writers who have the passion and talent deserving of a professional Hollywood career, and with our track record we have shown that we can do just that. That is why the Launch Pad Competitions have led to 66 writers being signed in just 2 years. Yes, that's correct. Let that number sink in for a moment to let you know how serious we really are.

The time, sweat and energy a writer commits to their work should be met with the same unwavering commitment from a writing competition…and that’s exactly who we are.

We’re about pushing past contests that are just "names on a page" and not resting until the writers who come out of these competitions have a real chance of finding success.

The Launch Pad Competition has demonstrated a track record that’s unrivaled among screenwriting competitions. They’ve personally led more writers to being repped in 2 years than most competitions can manage in 10 years. If you’re serious about becoming a writer, breaking in, and launching a career in this industry this is the place to start!

— Daniel Vang
Manager, Benderspink

As Editor of Script Magazine I've explored every contest out there, not only for myself but also for my writing community. When I heard what the Tracking Board was doing for writers, I had to toss my own script in the ring. I was immediately blown away with how much effort the TB team puts into matching writers with executives. This is not one of those meaningless contests that simply ends up on your resume and then dies on the vine. Launch Pad is unique in every aspect. They truly want to launch careers. For the first time in my 10-year writing career, I feel like someone has my back.

— Jeanne Bowerman
Semifinalist, 2014 LPFC

In a world flooded with competitions that lead to nothing, these guys at TB have exploded onto the scene with one of the most valuable, high level and effective contests that’s ever existed. Every major agency has signed someone, and almost every major studio has already bought scripts from the competition, and that’s speaking from experience. This contest is a game-changer!

Mentorship Program
IAN SHORR / ERIC KOENIG / SANTA SIERRA

One of the things we’re most excited about in 2015 is the new addition of our Mentorship Program. In our two years of existence, we’ve had an unfathomably amazing run of talented writers who have come through the Launch Pad and immediately begun careers, sold their scripts, and landed open writing assignments. But we wanted to add an extra layer of assistance to our Launch Pad writers, and we're doing so with our mentor program. This year Ian Shorr (Cristo, Capsule, Marble Hornets), LP Alum Eric Koenig (Matriarch) and LP Alum Santa Sierra (Chico Grande, In Search of Our Father, Sylvester Stallone) have come aboard to continue our mentor program with a focus on three key elements - getting you and your script ready, tips and strategies on pitching and choosing your next project, and insight on how to navigate a newly minted career in Hollywood.

Those selected for the guaranteed signings and mentor program are not required to be part of the Launch Pad finalists. These writers will be selected by the respective individuals in each category.

In order to provide that opportunity, we have judges from some of the top companies in Hollywood and A-List industry professionals. Our judges include:

Launch Pad judges repped
272
Projects from the Black List in the last 5 years
Launch Pad judges repped
364
Projects from the Young & Hungry List in the last 4 years
Launch Pad judges repped
371
Projects from the Hit List in the last 5 years

There's really no other competition to enter but this one. A week after being announced one of 25 finalist my script was being shopped to all the major studios by producers from THE LEGO MOVIE, HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, and EARTH TO ECHO. This was BEFORE announcing my script was a top 10 finalist, BEFORE winning the competition, and even BEFORE landing any representation. Is there anything more you could ask for?

Winner, 2014 LPFC

This isn't about winning a contest, it's about beginning a career. Look at the numbers they've had, look at the reps who've signed, and look at the companies buying. If you're serious, and you think you've got what it takes, this is one of the few places that can make a dream become a reality.

Manager, Energy Entertainment

As a research scientist, I'm pretty much the definition of a Hollywood outsider. So I cannot overstate just how important my pilot COSMO'S making the Top 25 semifinals of the Tracking Board's Launch Pad Pilot Competition has been to my writing career. Not only is Nerdist.com now interested in turning COSMO'S into a web series, but thanks to The Tracking Board's continued support I landed an agent who has four shows in syndication (including WILL & GRACE and WEEDS) and has sold dozens of other pilots!

I entered the Launch Pad Competition on a whim, not expecting much to come of it. I'm now repped, working on my next project, and getting my scripts read all over town. Finding the right creative team -- the ones who are tapped into the industry and enthusiastic about you and your writing -- is the dream for every writer, and it's what Tracking Board does better than anyone. I'm incredibly grateful.

Finalist, 2014 LPFC

In a sea of screenwriting competitions that slap you with a gold star then leave you to dry, here's a competition that actually launches careers. Whatever you submit, make sure it's your best stuff, because these are the judges who matter, the eyes you want on your stuff, and the opinions producers and showrunners seek out.

My experience with the Launch Pad competition and all the Tracking Board folks has been incredible. Making the Top 25 felt like a spectacular honor, then it multiplied by 1000 due to the caliber of people involved. Their generosity and dedication to helping writers knows no bounds that I can see-- simply exceptional on every level.
